History

Harford Christian School exists to serve families by offering academic excellence within a Christian worldview,all to the glory of God. We welcome admissions applications from students/families who desire the same.Harford Christian School does not discriminate on the basis of race or national origin in administering our educational programs or financial policies.

Harford Christian School has enjoyed an excellent academic reputation since the school’s founding in 1966. Our devoted and professional staff members approach the task of Christian education with enthusiasm. The scope and sequence of the curriculum is founded upon a comprehensive biblical worldview, culminating in a broad and diverse high school offering of courses in English, math, science, Bible and foreign language.

Student Performance

Grades 1-8 all achieved above-average rankings nationally on the Iowa Assessments.

Grading Scale

Our Grade Point Average (GPA) is calculated on a weighted gradient scale. Courses marked with an “H” on the transcript are honors courses and are weighted. Our lowest passing mark is 64.5%.

Envirothon

The environmental science team has won the Harford County Envirothon competition for more than ten consecutive years and three times state championships in 2008, 2012 and 2013 and and placed seventh In North America in 2012. Our team recaptured its first place title in 2019. HCS finished 2nd at the county level in 2022, and 2023.

Alumni

An estimated 90% of our over 1400 graduates enter a college or university. Five recent graduates are enrolled in Doctoral programs in medicine and science.

HCS is fully accredited by Middle States Commission on Higher Education, American Association of Christian Schools, North American Christian Schools Acrediting Agency, and The National Council for Private School Accreditation.
