Reopening September 8th, On Campus, 5 Days a Week
Harford Christian is an independent, church-exempt school.
Harford Christian School is entering its 54th year of partnering with parents in the Christian education of their children. That partnership has always included keeping students safe while providing academic excellence.
We believe that returning to school is important for healthy development and well-being of children. HCS recognizes that children learn best when physically present in the classroom. Students experience much more than academics at school that cannot easily be replaced with online learning.
HCS is committed to good order and clearly defined behavioral expectations. Our biblical teaching and worldview fosters an environment of caring and consideration of others.
The following have been a part of HCS for decades:
- Engaged and caring teaching staff
- Smaller class sizes
- Structure and discipline
- Culture of respect
- Order and accountability
- Full-time nursing staff
- Custodial and cleaning personnel
- Dedicated volunteers
As a church-exempt school, we have liberty to make our own decisions regarding curriculum, instructional methodology, and yes . . . how we will re-open. Because of our size, we do not face many of the space and number-of-student challenges that will confront public schools. Harford Christian School plans to open its campus and buildings to all students five days per week for “in-person” classroom instruction on September 8, 2020.
